Become a member of the Northern Territory Veterans’ Affairs Ministerial Advisory Council

The Northern Territory Government is inviting applications from people interested in becoming a member of the Northern Territory Veterans’ Affairs Ministerial Advisory Council.

Members will be expected to actively contribute and provide advice to the Northern Territory Minister responsible for veterans’ affairs on issues affecting serving and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their families in the Territory.

Individuals should demonstrate the capacity to represent the interest of the Territory veterans’ community and have an understanding of local community issues. The ‘veterans’ community’ is inclusive of people with a direct link to defence service or a veteran.

This may include widows, partners, parents, children, siblings and relatives of ex-servicemen and women, and doesn’t exclude anyone with an evident link to, or interest in matters associated with veterans’ welfare or wellbeing. Everyone who is in this community is encouraged to apply.

Application

To apply, individuals need to complete an Expression of Interest application, indicating their skills and experience relevant to the role of a member of a Northern Territory Veterans’ Affairs Ministerial Advisory Council.

Members must be:

• a resident of the Territory
• an Australian citizen
• over 18 years of age
• committed to improving the wellbeing of veterans.

1. complete an Expression of Interest application, indicating skills and experience relevant to the role of a member of a Northern Territory Veterans’ Affairs Ministerial Advisory Council
2. provide a current Curriculum Vitae (maximum 3 pages)
3. provide contact details of 2 referees to verify information provided.
