Community development is important in the Territory given its unique geographic and demographic make-up.

The Department of the Chief Minister plays a key role in building a strong Territory community by:

Volunteers play an important role in the Northern Territory (NT) bringing people from different walks of life together to build healthier and more vibrant communities.

A strong partnership between the non-government (NGO) sector and the Northern Territory (NT) Government, is integral to achieving many of the priorities in Framing the Future, particularly under a strong society and confident culture.

The NT Government is committed to improving the government and sector partnership to support long-term capacity building and to achieve a difference in the lives of Territorians.
