Voiceover: The ship lift will be capable of servicing offshore petroleum, fishing, pearling, defence and border force vessels.

The NT government is proposing to build this project through a competitive process and has in principle agreement with Paspaley, a Territory owned company headquartered in Darwin, to operate and maintain the project.

The ship lifted east arm will create about 100 jobs during construction but the real benefit is the 400 long-term jobs and the 260 million dollars in additional economic activity each year.
