Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption

The Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (ICAC) is a specialist investigator with a focus on government corruption.

In June 2018, the NT’s first Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) Commissioner was sworn in and the ICAC was set up.

The ICAC is the Chief Executive Officer of his own agency, operating under the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Act 2017.

The agency is known as the Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.

The ICAC works with the community to prevent, detect and report improper conduct.

Exposure Draft Bill ICAC Act 2017

Feedback is now open on the Exposure Draft Bill to amend the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Act 2017.

The bill was developed following public feedback on the review of the Act conducted by Mr Greg Shanahan PSM in 2022.

Climate Change

The Northern Territory (NT) is a unique and beautiful part of the world and our natural assets are very important socially, culturally, economically and environmentally.

It is crucial that we respect and care for these unique and important assets by maintaining healthy ecosystems and protecting biodiversity.

The NT Government is developing the Climate Response Strategy (the strategy) to ensure the Northern Territory plays its part in mitigating global greenhouse gas emissions and adapts to the impacts of a changing climate.
