Travel Subsidies available for 7th National SNAICC Conference

The National Voice for our Children Conference is hosted by SNAICC (Secretariat National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care) every two years.
The 2017 Conference is being held in Canberra from 12-14 September at the National Convention Centre.
The Northern Territory Government is a gold sponsor of this event and proud to be involved in the national discussion on supporting children to be safe and cared for within family and culture and in reducing interaction with the child protection system.
All relevant NT based non-government organisations (NGOs) are invited to apply for a travel subsidy to fund up to 50% of the costs (travel, accommodation and registration fees) to help send staff to the Conference.
Up to $1000 is available for each staff member.
Subsidies limited to two staff per organisation.
Total funds available $10,000.
This Conference is for anyone working in Aboriginal children and family services and offers the opportunity to discuss challenges and share knowledge and experiences in raising happy, healthy and confident children in our communities.
The Conference marks the 20th anniversary since the handing down of the Bringing Them Home report. Discussion and awareness will centre on this anniversary and cover ongoing child removal, its causes and consequences for children, families and communities.

Who can apply?
Northern Territory based non-government organisations must apply on behalf of their staff.
Up to two staff members can be nominated from each organisation.
Priority will be given to Aboriginal organisations and Aboriginal staff are encouraged to apply.
