Learning and Development
The Local Government Act 2019 commenced on 1 July 2021.
Section 45 of the Act provides for professional development of council members. A council member must complete a training course within 12 months of each local government general election.

Introduction to the Code of Conduct
Welcome to the online training course for Introduction to the Code of Conduct. This course is designed for all new and existing council members, council committee members and local authority members, which provides you with information about the Code of Conduct.
Understanding Conflicts of Interest
This course provides an introduction to conflicts of interest for council members, including understanding and managing conflicts of interests. It is recommended that you complete Introduction to the Code of Conduct before completing this course
Roles and Responsibilities of Council Members
This course is designed for all new and existing council members, council committee members and local authority members, which provides you with information about your roles and responsibilities. This course will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and it is recommended you view the program at your own pace.
