Remuneration Tribunal
The Remuneration Tribunal is an independent statutory body established under the Assembly Members and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Other Entitlements) Act 2006.
They inquire into the:
- remuneration and
- entitlements of key Northern Territory (NT) office holders.
These include reports and determinations tabled in the NT Legislative Assembly.

The Tribunal includes:
- Chairperson Mr Michael Martin OAM
- Member The Hon Sydney Stirling AM
- Member Mr Gary Higgins.
Annual inquiries
The Tribunal's current inquiries include the below.
Entitlements of Assembly members
On 5 March 2022, the Tribunal began its inquiry into the entitlements of members of the Legislative Assembly for 2023.
Submissions closed on 1 April 2022.
Entitlements of Local Court judges
On 1 May 2022, the Tribunal began its inquiry into the entitlements of Local Court judges for 2022.
Submissions close on 3 June 2022.
