Aboriginal Land and Sea Action Plan Paves Way for Jobs

Published

The Northern Territory Government has revamped its Aboriginal Land and Sea Action Plan to unlock more jobs and economic development in the Territory.

The new plan has been updated to cover the period up to 2024.

First launched in 2019, the Action Plan identified 10 key areas to progress with Land Councils, Traditional Owners, the Commonwealth Government and other key stakeholders.

These include supporting economic development and employment on Aboriginal land and partnerships to support management of Aboriginal land.

Other actions forming part of the plan include resolving all outstanding land and native title claims, progress the Blue Mud Bay Implementation plan and enhancing long-term leases on Aboriginal land.

It is important the plan is updated regularly to continue to deliver on the economic and social aspirations of Aboriginal Territorians.
